Sunita Shreastha from Uttarakhand secured second position in the 19th National Mountain Biking Championship being organised by Cycling Federation of India in Panchkula in Haryana. Along with this achievement, the relay race team of Uttarakhand finished third in the relay race competition and won the bronze medal. It is learnt from the organisers that the national level championship was held from March 28 to March 30 and 550 cyclists from 28 states participated in it. Sunita won the silver medal in the elite women category of the championship. She hails from Harsil, Uttarkashi. The gold medal in this particular event was won by Parinita Sougan from Maharashtra.
