Sunrise Academy hosted the first of its kind inter school ‘Dohawali’ competition. Students of 13 schools of Dehradun were invited to present couplets (Dohas) of great Indian poets — Rahim Das and Kabir Das in the competition. The aim of the competition was to create awareness among children about great Indian literature.
Padma Shri awardee Madhuri Barthwal, Kamla Pant and Beena Benjwal were the judges in the competition. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the best team on the basis of delivery, pronunciation and aesthetic presentation.
