Surging suspense in saffron party

In latest news from Dehradun, keeping all on tenterhooks, the BJP’s central election committee is yet to announce the names of the candidates for four of the five seats of the State. However, it is expected that the names would be made public very soon.  As per CEC’s first list finalised in the wee hours after marathon brain-storming led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union home minister Amit Shah and the BJP’s national president J P Nadda, the incumbent MP from Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituency Ajay Bhatt who is the Union minister of state for defence and tourism will contest again from the seat. The saffron sources privy to the developments said that the party is all set to field new candidates for two constituencies-Haridwar and Pauri-replacing Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Tirath Singh Rawat by Trivendra Singh Rawat and Anil Baluni respectively.  For the other two seats-Tehri and Almora, the incumbents Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah and Ajay Tamta are poised to get re-nomination, the saffron sources added.
