Suspended registrar arrested by police

The suspended registrar of GB Pant institute of engineering and technology Ghurdori, Sandeep Kumar was arrested by Pauri police in Dehradun on Monday. It is pertinent to mention that Pauri police had registered a case against suspended registrar of the institute under sections 409 and 477A of IPC based on the FIR lodged by registrar in-charge Sanjeev Naithani. The report stated that the documents of the appointment of the teachers in the year 2018-19 were not in the office, which had hampered government work. The documents were reportedly in the possession of Sandeep Kumar.
In this matter, the government has set up high level enquiry by a special investigation team (SIT) against Kumar. The SIT visited the institute many times and inquired about the documents of the institution. The SIT also investigated the offices and employees of the institution regarding the matter. The police said that they had sufficient proof of documents against Sandeep Kumar. It will be recalled that Kumar had been suspended from the post of registrar for alleged financial irregularities and other anomalies.
