To mark the closing of the Swachhata Hi Seva fortnight launched by the Municipal Corporation Rishikesh, a programme was held in the municipal corporation golden jubilee premises on Wednesday. The senior cabinet minister Premchand Aggarwal was present on the occasion. During the programme, several people- engaged in environment protection works- including sanitation supervisors and inspectors, were felicitated.
In his address, Aggarwal congratulated all who have contributed to cleanliness and hygiene under the Swachh Bharat Mission launched ten years ago. The commissioner, Municipal Corporation Rishikesh Shailendra Singh Negi said that the civic body has organised three cleanliness camps in the past nine months, adding that hygiene kits and medical kits have been distributed.
