Swami Sumananand Giri Maharaj felicitated in Haridwar after his consecration in Ujjain

While felicitating Mahamandaleshwar Swami Sumananand Giri Maharaj of Shree Panchayati Niranjani Akhara who came from Ujjain, the president of Jagatguru Ashram, Shankaracharya Rajrajeshwarashram Maharaj said that the ascetics are the true saints and such ascetic saints deserve to be respected. But nowadays people respect those who enjoy status, he said in his presidential address during the felicitation and saint blessing ceremony. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Sumananand Giri Maharaj is a native of Kankhal and he came to Haridwar for the first time after the consecration of Mahamandaleshwar at Maun Teerth Ujjain. He was accorded civic reception by Mahamana Seva Sansthan Haridwar.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Uttarakhand cabinet minister Premchand Aggarwal said that the importance of pilgrimages increases with the presence of saints.  He further said that both saints and householders are feeling proud by honoring Swami Sumananand Giri Maharaj on becoming Mahamandaleshwar.

 Sumnanand Giri Maharaj said that he is feeling elated having come to Kankhal, his birth place and work place. He said that he had an emotional relationship with this land.
