Shrimati Manjira Devi Ayurvedic Medical College and hospital in Rukmani Nagar, Dhanari in Uttarkashi hosted a free Swarna Prashan Sanskar camp on Wednesday during which about 200 children in the age group of five to 12 years from the rural areas were administered Swarna Prashan drops meant to increase their immunity and power of mind and memory.
Speaking at the camp, the president of the institute Hari Shankar Nautiyal said that such camps would be organised on the occasion of Pushya Nakshatra of every month. “This is to ensure the physical, mental and intellectual development of the children from the rural areas,” he added. The chairman of the college Bhagwan Nautiyal termed the Swarna Prashan ceremony a festival of health not just for the children but also of the society as a whole.
