In latest news from Dehradun, the former minister and Congress leader Harak Singh Rawat and the former chief minister and BJP veteran Trivendra Singh Rawat traded charges against each other in the aftermath of the vigilance sleuths having raided several establishments linked to the former.
While commenting on the vigilance raids on the Congress leader’s properties, T S Rawat said that aside from the generator worth Rs 78 lakh purchased with the government funds for the Corbett National Park being used at a private institution owned by H S Rawat’s son, some other Corbett equipments might have disappeared and the vigilance officers might be fully aware of what had disappeared from there. While clearly alluding to H S Rawat, T S Rawat said that some people are looking upon leaders as those who are adept in the art of justifying what is wrong as right.
In retaliatory comment, H S Rawat said that T S Rawat should explain how he had built such a huge house in Dehradun when he had neither done any job nor done any business in his life. “Besides, his wife is primary school teacher and is it possible for a primary school teacher to build the big house in Dehradun the family has been living in?” he asked.
