Special emphasis would be on providing health facilities in remote & mountainous areas
The newly appointed health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that his focus would be on taking effective measures for preventing the people of the state from the probable third wave of the pandemic of Covid-19.
Talking to The Pioneer shortly after being handed over the key portfolio of Medical Health and Medical Education, Rawat exuded confidence that with the help and cooperation of the doctors and other staff members the state would be able to ward off the challenge of the Covid-19. He said that vaccination holds the key in the fight against the disease. He said that he would keep a direct watch on the ongoing vaccination drive and effort would be made to ensure that the entire population of the state is vaccinated as soon as possible.
Requesting the general public to follow the guidelines for preventing the Covid-19, Rawat said that the disease can be tamed only by coordinated effort and public awareness. He said that the health services have improved vastly under the BJP government and the state government is committed to provide the best health care facility to every individual. The minister added that recruitment of doctors, nursing staff, technicians and other posts in the department would be done and special emphasis would be made on providing health workers in the remote and mountainous areas.
On the demand of the air ambulance service in Uttarakhand, the health minister assured that efforts would be made to provide air ambulance service with the help of the disaster management department.
