At a time when Dehradun and other parts in the State were experiencing rising temperatures, rainfall on Wednesday has brought the temperatures down considerably. While the maximum temperature on Tuesday was nearly 38 degrees Celsius in Dehradun, it dropped to 32.7 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The sudden change in the weather in Dehradun has created conditions which may cause more people to suffer from health issues, state experts. Necessary precautions should be taken to avoid the ill effects of the swift change in weather as sudden fluctuations in the weather may also affect the immune system of the body.
Commenting on taking the necessary precautions in view of the weather change, senior physician Dr Pravin Panwar said, “It is a fact that extreme change in temperature leads to many adverse effects on the body. However sudden changes in the weather cause many temporary diseases like viral fever, running nose and issues with breathing. The infant and the aged are more likely to suffer the adverse impacts of such change in the weather. Therefore, it is important for the aged people to take their regular medications on time and follow a balanced diet.”
He further said that dehydration is a problem which is experienced not only during rising temperatures but also during rainy weather. Therefore to avoid this, people must increase their water intake. Moreover, a proper and balanced diet is always considered an important tool to prevent health issues, he added.
