Take problems pointed by MLAs seriously: CM to officers

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the progress of development schemes in the assembly constitutes represented by the opposition parties and independents belonging to Tehri, Garhwal and Haridwar parliamentary seats at the State secretariat on Thursday. In the meeting, the CM directed the officers to take the problems pointed out by the MLAs seriously and solve them.  He said that everyone should work in a united manner for the all round development of the State. Dhami directed the district magistrate to hold regular meetings with the MLAs for solving the problems in their areas. He said that the pace of work in the Jal Jeevan Mission should be expedited and it should be ensured that there is no shortage of drinking water during the summers.

He said that the DMs should allot works to the officers to expedite the development works and solving local issues.  Dhami directed them to hold regular inspections and said that the arrangement of human resources and necessary equipment should be done at Tehsil level for the disaster management works.

 He said that the State government is committed for encouraging agriculture, horticulture, tourism and industry sectors and efforts are being made to strengthen health, education and connectivity in the State. The State government is operating many welfare schemes and striving to augment livelihood of the people. Every possible effort is being made to bring Uttarakhand among the leading states of the country, he said.

 In the meeting the CM reviewed Yamunotri, Badrinath, Pratapnagar, Chakrata, Bhagwanpur, Jwalapur, Jhabreda, Piran Kalier, Laksar, Khanpur and Haridwar rural assembly constituencies.

 It is pertinent to mention here that the Congress party had objected to the parliamentary constituency-wise review meeting of assembly constituencies by stating that only ruling party MLAs were invited in them. On the objection of the Congress the government had clarified that a separate meeting with the MLAs of opposition parties would be held. In the meeting held on the day Congress MLAs Pritam Singh, Ravi Bahadur, Mamta Rakesh, Virendra Kumar, Furkan Ahmed, Anupama Rawat, Vikram Singh Negi and Rajendra Bhandari took part. The BSP MLAs Sarvat Karim Ansari and Mohammad Sahjad and independent Sanjay Dobhal also attended the meeting.

 In the meeting the MLAs raised issues of roads, drinking water, health, flood protection drainage, sewage disposal and others.

Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, principal secretary R K Sudhanshu, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagauli, Nitesh Jha, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, HC Semwal, Dependra Kumar Chaudhary, R Rajesh Kumar, director general of education Banshidhar Tiwari and other officers were present in the review meeting.
