Take special care for providing facilities to pilgrims- CM to Haridwar officials

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that in view of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra special care should be taken for providing facilities to the pilgrims in Haridwar district. He said this while undertaking a review meeting on the development works in Haridwar district at Dam Kothi on Friday. In the meeting the officers of Haridwar Municipal Corporation informed the CM that cleaning work of 160 drains in the area has started. Dhami directed the officers of the health department that the sanitation level should be maintained in all hospitals and warned that at any time surprise inspections of the hospital and other offices can be made. In the review of the works of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) it was found that at many places the highway becomes waterlogged. The officers told the CM that the drains on the sides of highway receive water from nearby localities and other areas due to which water logging occurs. The CM said that the officers of NHAI and irrigation department should work in coordination to solve the problem. He also took stock of the Jal Jiwan Mission and said that the people should not have drinking water problems. The officers of the power corporation informed that the availability of power has increased and the industrial units are being given required power. Dhami directed the officers of the Public Works Department (PWD) to make the roads of the district free from potholes.  He told the officers of PWD that the preparations for the Kanwad Yatra should start on time.

The CM said that the traffic should be properly managed and  directed that the illegal encroachments should be removed. He said that the disaster management system should remain active. Ranipur MLA Adesh Chauhan, Roorkee MLA Pradip Batra, district magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yogendra Singh Rawat and others were present on the occasion.
