In latest news from Uttarakhand, to rein in the surging drug smuggling and other criminal activities in the rural areas, Tallital police have decided to start patrolling in these areas along with the urban areas. Notably, there is a number of villages under the jurisdictional area of Tallital police station. The police officers said that drug traders and other criminals have made the rural areas their fields, given the police’s inability to keep these areas under their round the clock surveillance. Now, they would make their presence felt in the rural areas too, a senior officer of Tallital police station said.
The police station in-charge Ramesh Singh Bora said that the patrolling would help the people living in rural areas to keep in touch with police. “ Our activities will help curb crimes like drug peddling,” he added.
