Kumaon commissioner inspects & gives directions

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Tanakpur-Champawat highway which remained blocked near Swala following heavy landslides for five days has been reopened for traffic. The commissioner, Kumaon and the secretary to the chief minister Deepak Rawat made on-the-ground inspection of the Swala danger zone. He directed the officials concerned to ensure that the road remains open.
Notably, the blockage inconvenienced the locals a great deal.
