Tanakpur-Daurai Express flagged off, Kumaon now connected by rail with Rajasthan

The State’s Kumaon region got connected to Rajasthan by train with the flagging off of the Tanakpur-Daurai Express by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union minister of State Ajay Tamta on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion via video conferencing, Dhami said that the start of this train is a historic moment. The people of Kumaon will get better train services over long distances. This will enhance the convenience of local travellers, add new dimensions to tourism and make the journey more convenient for pilgrims to Purnagiri Dham, he said. “This new train will also boost the State’s economy as the local products will get a bigger market and the ‘vocal for local’ campaign will gain impetus. Along with this, under the ‘One Station, One Product’ scheme, the regional handicrafts and special products will gain identity at the national level, which will benefit the local artisans and entrepreneurs,” Dhami said.
The CM said that more stress will be laid on the all-weather road project in order to further enhance road connectivity and make travelling more convenient.
Union minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta said that the start of this new rail service on the Hindu new year will provide a convenient experience of long distance travel. The Tanakpur railway station is getting a new identity and encouragement, which will lend pace to the development of the entire region. He said, “We are committed to extending the rail network to the mountainous regions. Survey work is being conducted for the Tanakpur-Bageshwar and Ramnagar- Chaukhutiya rail lines in order to introduce rail service in the mountainous regions in the future,” Tamta said.
According to Railway officials, this express train will operate regularly from Tanakpur from March 30 and from Daurai from March 31, four days a week.
The 15092 Tanakpur- Daurai Express will depart at 18:20 every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Tanakpur. It will depart from Khatima at 18:45, Pilibhit junction at 19:27, Bhojipura junction at 20:05, Izzatnagar at 20:45, Bareilly City at 21:10, Bareilly junction at 21:20, Chandausi at 23:30, from Moradababad on the next day at 00:45, Ghaziabad at 03:20, Delhi junction at 04:40, Delhi Cantt at 05:17, Gurugram at 05:35, Rewari junction at 06:47, Narnaul at 07:58, Neema Ka Thana at 08:56, Sri Madhopur at 09:25, Ringas junction at 09:40, Fulera at 11:35, Kishangarh at 12:22 and Ajmer junction at 13:20 before reaching Daurai at 13:55.
The 15091 Daurai-Tanakpur Express will operate regularly from March 31 every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It will depart from Daurai at 16:05 and after covering the various stations, will reach Tanakpur at 09:35 on the next day.
