Tanzanian national caught with cocaine in Doon

The police apprehended a notorious foreign drug peddler and Tanzanian national, Pascal John, on charges of supplying cocaine from Delhi to Dehradun. He was arrested with 44.50 grammes of cocaine late on Tuesday following a special checking operation led by Rajpur police as part of the Drug-Free Devbhoomi 2025 campaign.
The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that John is a key member of the Cobra Gang, who was caught near Canal Road with 44.50 grammes of cocaine, worth approximately Rs 31 lakh. He was planning to supply the drugs to a high-profile party in Dehradun, he said. He informed that the police had also arrested two female members of the Cobra Gang and six others involved in drug trafficking in recent months who have been sent to jail. He said that John revealed during interrogation that he frequently travelled between Tanzania and Delhi, supplying cocaine across various parts of India based on demand.
The police have registered a case against him under the NDPS Act at Rajpur Police Station. The police are also investigating who were the clients of the accused in Dehradun and will take further action accordingly, he added.
