Tarsem Singh’s killers still at large, police announce Rs 25K bounty

The police are conducting raids in four States to arrest the two main accused Sarvjeet Singh and Amarjeet Singh in the murder of Dera Kar Sewa Pramukh of Udham Singh Nagar’s Nanakmatta Gurudwara, Tarsem Singh on March 28. The Udham Singh Nagar senior superintendent of police Manjunath TC also announced a reward of Rs. 25,000 each on the arrest of both the accused late on Saturday. He has also appointed 83 police officers and policemen in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate the case as per the order of officiating director general of police Abhinav Kumar.
The court has also issued non-bailable warrants against both the accused, as per the officials. They said that the SIT also detained at least four local people in the case. These people allegedly provided assistance to both shooters who had been in the area for over a week planning to execute Singh’s murder. The police have already filed an FIR against five people on the complaint of a man Jasvir Singh who is associated with the Dera to which Tarsem Singh belonged.
He registered a complaint against five accused including the two assailants and three men- Udham Singh Nagar’s Gadarpur residents Pritam Singh Sindhu and Harvansh Singh Chugh along with a UP resident Anoop Singh. Chugh is a former IAS officer and also the head of the Nanakmatta Sahib Gurdwara management committee. The additional director general of police AP Anshuman (Law and Order) said that SIT is working efficiently and taking all possible actions to expedite the resolution of the case. The police are chasing the absconded accused continuously and will nab them soon, he added.
