The appointment of a proxy teacher by a primary school headmaster in Pauri proved costly with the education department suspending her on Wednesday. On the orders of the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Pauri, Anand Bharadwaj, the district education officer (DEO), primary education Mohammad Sawed Alam suspended assistant teacher Sheetal Rawat of Government primary school, Bangwari of Thalisain block in district Pauri on Wednesday. Rawat was the headmaster( in charge) of the primary school.
It is pertinent to mention that CEO Bhardwaj had made a sudden inspection of the GPS Bangwari in Thalisain block on Tuesday. During the inspection he found that Sheetal Rawat had deployed a village girl Madhu Rawat for teaching the students of the school and was absent from the duty. The Headmaster ( in charge ) Sheetal Rawat used to pay Rs 2500 per month to the village girl for teaching the students.
The students informed CEO Bharadwaj that Sheetal Rawat remains absent but she marks her present in the school register.
Taking a strict note of the disclosure the CEO instructed Block education officer (BEO) to conduct an inquiry in the issue.
