The teachers of the government schools held a protest at the State Education Directorate in support of their demand for cancellation of the examination for direct recruitment of headmasters in the Education department. On the call given by the Rajkeeya Shikshak Sangh (RSS), a large number of teachers in the State are on the path of agitation.
The RSS, the influential association of government school lectures, is demanding cancellation of examinations for direct recruitment of headmasters in the State. The association wants all the posts of headmasters in the department to be filled by promotions.
The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UkPSC) will soon conduct an examination for direct recruitment of headmasters on 692 posts.
The president of the RSS, Ram Singh Chauhan said that the agitation will be intensified if the examination for direct recruitment of headmasters is not cancelled. He said that it is unfortunate that despite many rounds of talks with administration and government the examination has not been cancelled yet. He threatened that teachers will try to forcibly close the examination centres of the headmasters examination if the examination is not cancelled.
