In latest news from Doon, with the State government having decided to consider the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and the Government inter- colleges (SCERT and SIEMAT) situated in proximity of DIET in the hill districts of Uttarakhand as schools located in accessible areas (sugam), the teachers working for these institutions are set to join the schools located in the difficult to inaccess (durgam) areas after a mandated period of working time as per the modified transfer policy.
The education department said that the government had made this move in view of the teachers working for DIET and nearby inter- colleges located in main road-connected areas of mountainous districts and hill stations availing the privileges due to the teachers working in the schools located in inaccessible areas outside the road connectivity facility.
