Technical issues resolved, Jamrani dam affected to get compensation soon: Bhatt

The Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar MP Ajay Bhatt said that the owners of land affected by the Jamrani dam multipurpose project will receive compensation soon as all technical issues regarding land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation have been resolved. Bhatt said that the administration has undertaken necessary steps for resettlement and rehabilitation of those affected by this project. The Nainital district magistrate will not announce the award and distribute compensation and assistance amounts to all those concerned. The Uttarakhand government had earlier allocated Rs 200 crore to the Nainital DM for land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation of the affected families. However, the allocation was being delayed due to some technical aspects. The Uttarakhand administration has now resolved these issues and given the green signal to the allocation process. The MP said that with this development, the affected landowners will soon be provided compensation.
