Teelu Rauteli & Anganwadi worker award presented to women in U’Khand

The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya presented the Teelu Rauteli award and the Anganwadi workers award 2023-2024 at a function on Thursday.  A total of 13 women were presented with the Teelu Rauteli award, while 32 were presented with the Anganwadi worker award. A sum of Rs 51,000 was also given to each awardee in the programme.

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually attended the programme and congratulated the women for winning the Teelu Rauteli award. He expressed his hope that the women of the state will follow the examples set by the award winners and contribute to taking Uttarakhand to new heights. He also encouraged women to dream big and assured them that the state government is there to support them in making their dreams a reality. Speaking on the occasion, Arya said that this award shows that the women power of the state is doing excellent work in various fields. This honour is given every year on August 8 to mark the birthday of Veerbala Teelu Rauteli. Arya added that in the coming time, along with Anganwadi workers, the public will also be able to see the Poshan tracker app in rural areas.

Arya further added that under the leadership of chief minister the state government is making efforts to empower women. The State “Teelu Rauteli” Award is given every year under the aegis of the WECD Department to women and adolescents who do excellent work in the fields of education, social service, adventure work, sports, art craft, culture, environment and agriculture in adverse circumstances, she added.

Commenting about the eligibility for the Anganwadi worker award, She said that for the State level Anganwadi worker award, Anganwadi workers are eligible if they work continuously for at least five years in the state, operate centres with a minimum of eight children of three to six years in rural areas, and minimum 18 children in urban areas. Also, they should have all the beneficiaries registered in the Poshan tracker app. She further added that the girls and women of the state will follow the ideals of the award winners and help in taking Uttarakhand to new heights. The women of the state should dream big and try to make their dreams come true, she said.
