Tehri police solve theft case in 2 hours, accused held with stolen items

In latest Uttarakhand news, Tehri police solved a theft case and held the accused with the stolen items within two hours. What happened is that a woman, resident of Bauradi, New Tehri, filed complaint at the police station in the afternoon, saying that some unknown thieves had broken the lock of the house and stolen gold ornaments from the cupboard. Immediately on receiving the complaint, the Chamba police station registered a case. On the order of SSP Tehri Navneet Bhullar, a police team was formed comprising additional superintendent of police. It acted under the direction of the deputy superintendent of police.
Acting on the instructions of the seniors, the police team questioned the people living in the neighbourhood and particularly those who had their names recorded with police as thieves. Finally, police team zeroed on one Suman Rana, resident of Bauradi New Tehri. He was detained for questioning. He later admitted that he had committed the theft and police recovered all the stolen items from him. The accused was produced before the court. SSP said that the value of the stolen items is about Rs 1.5 lakh.
