In latest Uttarakhand news, Rajesh Bhandari, who hails from Tehri Garhwal and who had his early education in Dehradun, has been appointed as the assistant chief of Air Staff at Air Force headquarters in New Delhi. He was made a commissioned officer in the Air Force on December 15 1990 and was promoted to the rank of air commodore on February 1, 2022. With men from Uttarakhand helming the top positions in the security establishments of the country over the past few years, Bhandari’s appointment is the latest. While Bhandari’s father late Lalit Singh Bhandari held several senior positions in Sashastra Seema Bal, his wife Jyoti Bhandari was a teacher of a Delhi-based school.
