Telangana chief justice RS Chauhan to be U’khand HC chief justice
The Supreme Court collegium has recommended transfer of Telangana high court chief justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan to the post of Uttarakhand high court chief justice. The collegium also recommended elevation of Uttarakhand high court justice Sudhanshu Dhulia to the post of Gauhati high court chief justice.
Justice RS Chauhan was born in 1959 and after graduating from USA in 1980, he secured his law degree from Delhi university in 1983. He has served as a justice in the Rajasthan high court, Karnataka and subsequently as the acting and then permanent chief justice of Telangana high court. While serving as the chief justice in Telangana high court, he is credited for having initiated reforms in the system. In cases pertaining to Covid-19 management, public health issues and lake management he is known for striving to systematise the issues.
