Temperature remains above normal in Doon, light rain likely in four districts

Even as the withdrawal of monsoon continues in various regions of the country, temperatures have risen one to three degrees Celsius above normal in Dehradun and elsewhere in the State. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur in Pithoragarh, Nainital, Almora and Champawat districts on Wednesday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. While no significant rainfall was reported in the State on Tuesday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 32.4 degrees Celsius and 22.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32.5 degrees Celsius and 22.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.1 degrees Celsius and 13.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.4 degrees Celsius and 16.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Dehradun were each two degrees Celsius above normal while the minimum temperature in Pantnagar was a degree above normal. The maximum temperature in Mukteshwar was three degrees above normal while the minimum was two degrees above normal. While the maximum was two degrees below normal in New Tehri, the minimum was a degree above normal.
