Temperatures remain above normal after monsoon withdrawal

With the monsoon having withdrawn from Uttarakhand, temperatures are rising above normal in both the plains and mountainous regions of the State. The State meteorological center has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in all districts of the State on Monday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky today. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

There was no significant rainfall anywhere in the State on Sunday. However, both the maximum and minimum temperatures were noticeably above normal in various places in the plains and mountains regions of the State on Sunday. According to the meteorological centre, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Sunday were 33 degrees Celsius and 21.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34 degrees Celsius and 22.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23.3 degrees Celsius and 10.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 23.7 degrees Celsius and 13.5 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum and minimum temperatures were three and two degrees Celsius above normal respectively in Dehradun. The maximum and minimum temperatures were both two degrees above normal in Pantnagar while the maximum temperature was three degrees above normal in Mukteshwar.
