Temperatures to remain high, rain to bring relief in mountains

The maximum temperatures have remained above normal in Dehradun and various other places despite some relief from heat wave conditions in the past few days. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Friday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the plain areas of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky on Friday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 38 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Thursday were 37.4 degrees Celsius and 22.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 37 degrees Celsius and 23.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 27.4 degrees Celsius and 12.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27.1 degrees Celsius and 11.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
