In latest news from Uttarakhand, with tiger terror disrupting normal life of those inhabiting Gajna area of Uttarkashi, the people have demanded the administration and the forest department to install cages to trap the feline, to intensify patrolling and to shoot it if other measures fail. They say their children are unable to appear in the annual examination, adding that the villagers are nearly sleepless, keeping vigil on their children and cattle with the man eater on the prowl.
A social activist Nitin Nautiyal threatened to stage massive stir if no action is taken to cage or kill the beast. “This tiger has killed five cattle so far and children are unable to go out for school. The administration must sit up and act instead of waiting for something bigger to happen,” he added.
