The State Cabinet minister, Satpal Maharaj expressed grief over the cloudburst-triggered disaster in Tharali of Chamoli district. He said that as per information received, the body of a woman has been recovered from under the debris while another man was still missing and five persons were injured. “Efforts are on to airlift the injured and send them to a higher centre, battling hostile weather, as per the instructions of the chief minister,” he said, adding that the rescue operations were being carried out jointly by the district administration as well as NDRF, SDRF, ITBP and SSB.
