THDCIL and REC sign MoU to develop high-performance Water Sports Academy at Koteshwar

In a significant step towards transforming the landscape of sports development in India, THDC India Limited and REC Limited signed a memorandum of understanding for financial collaboration of Rs four crore to develop an Olympic-size pool at Koteshwar High-Performance Water Sports Academy in Uttarakhand. THDCIL chairman and managing director RK Vishnoi said, “Through our CSR activities we are equally focused on contribution to the overall socio-economic development of the nation. The establishment of an Olympic-size pool at the Koteshwar High-Performance Water Sports Academy is the example of our dedication to nurturing athletic talent and promoting excellence in water sports.”

THDCIL director (Personnel) Shallinder Singh stated, “This collaboration with REC is another step towards setting new benchmarks in Corporate Social Responsibility and community engagement. The Olympic-size pool aims to create world-class sports infrastructure that will not only cater to national talent but also prepare athletes for international-level competitions, CSR activities in sports play a key role in building infrastructure, improving training and helping develop skills, which can boost community well-being and support athletes.”

Officials said that the development of this state-of-the-art facility will not only strengthen the capabilities of the Koteshwar High-Performance Water Sports Academy but also position it as a hub for nurturing athletes in water sports.
