THDCIL announces COD of Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant

THDC India Limited announced the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of the Unit#1 of 1320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant (KSTPP), an achievement hailed by the senior officials as another important milestone in its commitment to strengthening India’s power generation capacity.
The chairman and managing director, THDCIL R K Vishnoi said that the commercial operation date (COD) of the Unit#1 of the 2×660 MW (1320 MW) of KSTPP had been declared in the midnight of January 25. He mentioned that while traditionally, THDCIL’s core Business Area had been harnessing of Hydropower, this landmark achievement showcased its excellence and expertise in the thermal power sector, furthering India’s journey towards energy self-reliance. He also said that the foundation stone of the project had been laid by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Also, he highlighted that the Flue Gas De-sulphurization (FGD) system being integrated in the Khurja STPP had been completed in a record time. The director (Personnel) Shallinder Singh congratulated team Khurja too for this achievement.
