The chairman and managing director, THDC India Limited R K Vishnoi informed that his organisation has been conferred with the CSR Times Award in recognition of its achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on water conservation and management. He further said that the award-giving ceremony was presided over by the Union minister of state, health and family welfare S P Singh Baghel. Deputy head of mission and envoy extraordinary of Embassy of Hungary Laszlo Makk handed over the award under the 10th National CSR Summit and CSR Times Award, 2023. The conference, themed on: ‘Achieving SDGs through CSR in Developing Economics: Role of G20 Nations’ was organised by The CSR TIMES.
Vishnoi added that THDCIL’s endeavours in the realm of water conservation and environmental management have transformed lives in the rural villages of Tehri Garhwal through easing the villagers’ financial and physical burdens by ensuring improved water availability.
Speaking on the occasion, director (personnel), THDCIL Shallinder Singh informed that in addition to water conservation project, THDCIL actively engages in healthcare initiatives like operating allopathic and homeopathic dispensaries in areas affected by its projects and conducting medical camps across its operational domains while prioritising the health of local communities. He further said that education, skill development and women and youth empowerment are parts of THDCIL’s CSR philosophy.
