THDCIL inaugurates electric charging station at Haridwar

In a bid to cater the need of future energy demands and to promote the adoption of green energy, THDC India Limited (THDCIL) installed an electric vehicle charging station at Deendayal Upadhyay parking in Haridwar. THDCIL chairman and managing director RK Vishnoi, inaugurated the electric charging station in the presence of director (Finance) J Behera and others.
The charging station is capable of charging three vehicles simultaneously. It has the capacity to charge a four-wheeler in just 45 minutes as against 7-8 hours required for charging the same at home. The vehicle charging station has been set up by THDCIL under its CSR initiative through Convergence Energy Services Limited, a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited. During the inauguration Vishnoi stated that the e-charging station is an important initiative to meet the future energy requirements for a cleaner environment and will also provide ease for the travellers to charge their electric vehicles coming to Haridwar in view of various religious festivals, Char Dham Yatra and Kumbh. He said that THDCIL is going ahead with its ambitious plan to set up electric vehicle charging stations at other places in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Behera said that it as an important investment of CSR funds by THDCIL in environmental protection. The Installation of electric vehicle charging station will encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in the state, he added.
On this occasion, general manager (CSR) Pradeep Kumar Naithani said that to promote the use of electric vehicles, a provision has been made to charge a fee at this charging station at concessional rates under THDCIL’s CSR scheme and not at the commercial rates.
