Tredco Rajasthan Limited, a joint venture company of THDC India Limited and RRECL- a State PSU of Rajasthan government, has been incorporated under Companies Act 2013 and registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
THDCIL chairman and managing director RK Vishnoi who is also ex-officio chairman of the newly incorporated Tredco Rajasthan Limited announced its launch as a joint venture company for development, operation, and maintenance of Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks (UMREPP) of 10,000 MW capacity in the State of Rajasthan. An estimated investment of Rs 40,000 crore is proposed by the joint venture on developing these UMREPPs, he stated. As solar and wind are variable energy sources and difficult to align with demand, integration of wind and solar energy with conventional hydro power and energy storage projects is required.
THDCIL has a big presence in the field of hydro, thermal and wind energy and is now venturing in pump storage projects as well as green hydrogen technology. The power generated by the solar/ wind energy installations in these UMREPPs shall be used for operation of THDCIL’s own pump storage plants (PSP) across India, or by government entities, either directly or through distribution companies.
