THDCIL & MoRTH ink MoU to study landslide susceptibility areas

THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) here on Tuesday. The MoU is for rendering technical services of THDCIL as technical consultant to study landslide susceptibility areas. THDCIL will suggest various mitigation measures on all the under developed national highway stretches in the state of Uttarakhand especially leading to Char Dham shrines including part of Kailash Mansarovar route. THDCIL general manager of design (Civil & HM), Atul Jain signed the MoU with his MoRTH regional office chief engineer VS Khaira.

According to officials, THDCIL will adopt latest technology coupled with conventional methods to tackle various complex issues related to the stabilisation measures for landslide vulnerable areas. THDCIL is also providing consultancy services to prevent the shooting stones and measures for rock fall protection to Vaishnodevi and Amarnath shrine boards. This step by THDCIL and MoRTH will pave way for trouble-free movement of pilgrims and vehicles plying on national highways in Uttarakhand.
