In latest news from Uttarakhand, thousands of devotees thronged the Har Ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar and took the holy dip in Ganga on the occasion of Vaisakhi. Anticipating a large crowd of devotees coming to the revered ghats of the holy city on this auspicious occasion, the police made elaborate security arrangements by dividing the fair ground into four super zones, 13 zones and 39 sectors. Police said that people were coming from neighbouring states like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana in particular.
