Three bodies of disaster victims were recovered in the Sarkhet area of Dehradun by personnel of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other rescue units. The bodies have been identified as those of Vishal (15), Rajendra Singh Rana (40) and Surendra Singh (45).
It will be recalled that five people were reported missing after heavy rainfall and the resulting disaster late on the night of August 19 caused water and debris to enter the Sarkhet village. The SDRF has been conducting search operations in the area and so far three bodies have been recovered. The search for the remaining missing persons is continuing.
