The Haridwar police have arrested three accused and recovered about Rs two lakh and silver idols from them which they had looted from a jewellery shop here on July 8. Haridwar senior superintendent of police Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj S informed that the main accused Satish is absconding but will be nabbed soon.
The three accused arrested are Sachin, Himanshu Tyagi and Hansraj Saini- all residents of Uttar Pradesh. Stating that Satish had made the plan to rob the jewellery shop, the SSP said that the accused had reached one place from different locations and then gathered again at the same location after the crime. While the police managed to arrest three accused acting on a tip off, it is searching for the remaining five accused. According to the police, the gang of eight had spent the night before the heist at the Roorkee district Panchayat guest house. After committing the robbery they had all taken different routes to evade capture.
