Three-day annual fest begins at Sherwood College

The three-day annual festival of Sherwood College began here on Saturday. The first day of the fest saw the students organising an exhibition on various subjects. Former student of the school and principal chief conservator of forests, Andhra Pradesh, Anand Kumar Jha inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest on the occasion. The students also gave a performance to a popular Kumaoni folk song. Addressing the students on the occasion, Jha appreciated the presentations made by the students. He said that considerable changes had taken place in the facilities available in the school, adding that improvement in the facilities will ensure further development of the students. He also recalled some interesting incidents from his days in the school. Earlier, the school principal Amandeep Sandhu informed about the progress made by the school. He also spoke about the programmes to be held as part of the three-day annual festival.
As part of the exhibition, historical cities in India and other nations were depicted in the history-based exhibit, while various aspects of science were depicted in the science-based exhibit. Various traditional Kumaoni dishes, impacts of global warming and other aspects were also displayed in other exhibits. Earlier, the students also exhibited their gymnastic skills, skating and other activities. The Haldwani mayor Jogendra singh Rautela and other invited guests were also present on the occasion.
