The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has handed over responsibility of the parliamentary affairs works to cabinet minister Prem Chand Agarwal. He was handed over the important assignment on Saturday ahead of the important session of the state assembly starting from Tuesday. The eight member Dhami cabinet was sworn in with the CM on Wednesday but the CM has not allotted the portfolios to his ministers yet. Agarwal who was the speaker during the term of fourth elected assembly is being widely tipped to be given parliamentary affairs ministry because of his experience of parliamentary procedures.
The first session of the fifth elected Vidhan Sabha of Uttarakhand is starting from Tuesday (March 29). On the first day of the assembly session would commence with the address of the governor. The Dhami government would bring a Vote on Account on March 30. This year the budget of the state could not be prepared because the state was under the process of assembly elections. The state government can convene the budget session in the month of August and to meet the day to day requirements till the preparation and presentation of the general budget the vote on account would be sought from the assembly.
