Three day session of Uttarakhand assembly starts from today
The first session of 5th Vidhan Sabha would start with governor’s address; Dhami govt to seek vote on account during the session
The three day session of the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha would commence from Tuesday. The session would be the first session of the newly elected fifth assembly of the state and would start with the address of the governor Lieutenant General ( Rtd) Gurmit Singh. On Monday the newly elected speaker of Uttarakhand assembly Ritu Khanduri presided over a meeting of the business advisory committee in her office. The meeting was attended by the parliamentary affairs (officiating) minister Prem Chand Agarwal, BJP MLA Khajan Das and Sahjad of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Incidentally no one from the principal opposition party Congress attended the meeting. The next meeting of the committee would be held on Tuesday morning.
Later talking to the media persons the Speaker Khanduri said that to preside over the proceedings of the house is both a momentous and challenging occasion for her. She said that efforts would be made to have positive discussion on the issues of development and public interest in the house. The speaker added that she will provide equal opportunity to all members of the house.
The Dhami government would bring a Vote on Account on March 30 during the session. This year the budget of the state could not be prepared because the state was under the process of assembly elections. The state government can convene the budget session in the month of August and to meet the day to day requirements till the preparation and presentation of the general budget the vote on account would be sought from the assembly.
