The authorities received information that some people had reportedly noticed three dead bodies in the river at Doiwala on Friday but only one was recovered till the late evening from Chidderwala area. The commandant of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Manikant Mishra informed that the authorities received an information that some people have noticed three dead bodies in the river in Lal Tappad area in Doiwala and another body near Pashulok Barrage in Rishikesh on early Friday morning.
The SDRF teams along with diving squads were sent to the locations to recover the bodies. The team searched for several kilometres to find the bodies but was able to recover only one body from Song River in the Chidderwala area till the late evening. According to him, the deceased is a woman whose body has been handed over to the district police but she is yet to be identified. The cause of death would be determined only after the authorities complete required procedures, said Mishra. He said that the search for the other bodies will be continued on Saturday too.
