Three family members were killed after their motorcycle was allegedly hit by a tractor-trolley in the Kunda police station area near Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar district late on Wednesday night.
The three victims were travelling to Kashipur to get medicine when the accident occurred, as per the officials. Officials informed that the deceased have been identified as Bagga Singh (36), his mother Preeto Kaur (69) and his 12-year-old nephew Shiva. Singh was reportedly taking Shiva to a private hospital in Kashipur for medical treatment.
According to the officials, the victims were reportedly tripling when their motorcycle hit a tractor-trolley carrying green peas. All three died on the spot. The officials informed that as per a witness, the driver of the tractor-trolley fled the scene immediately after the collision. Police arrived at the scene and took the bodies into custody for post-mortem examination. They said that police are investigating the case.
