Three people were killed including a father-son duo after the car they were travelling in fell into a 500 metre deep gorge on Wednesday.
According to the officials, the car was coming from Satgarh (Kanalichhina) to Pithoragarh on the Pithoragarh-Dharchula National Highway that went out of control near Paleta and fell into the deep gorge.
The deceased have been identified as Harish Kapdi (52) and his son Shubham Kapdi (29) besides a Dharchula resident who remained unidentified till late evening, as per the officials. The bodies were recovered with the help of police, NDRF and SDRF. They informed that Harish used to run a restaurant in Satgarh while his son was the Pithoragarh district vice president of NSUI. The bodies were brought to the district hospital to conduct a post-mortem, added officials.
