Three army jawans were killed during an encounter between the security forces and the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The Army officials said that a massive search operation to capture the terrorists was underway. They added that on receiving information about the presence of some terrorists in the higher reaches of Halan forest area, the security forces which included some police personnel, cordoned off the area and launched the search operation. This was when the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, promoting the latter to resort to retaliatory firing and subsequently, the search operation changed into an encounter. The Army officials informed that three jawans had been injured in the gun battle with the terrorists and while being treated, they succumbed to injuries.
