The Special Task Force (STF) has booked three more accused in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper leak case under the Gangster Act. The STF senior superintendent of police Ayush Agrawal informed that till now investigation was being carried out under the Gangster Act against 21 accused in the case. During the investigation it was revealed that three other accused had actively worked with the gang involved to orchestrate malpractices in the UKSSSC examination.
Considering this, proceedings under the Gangster Act have been initiated against the three accused- Gaurav Negi from Kichha in Udham Singh Nagar, Vipin Bihari- current resident of Lucknow and Sanjeev Kumar Chauhan from Ghaziabad- who are currently in the Suddhowala jail in Dehradun. For this purpose, the STF had prepared an amended gangster chart and had submitted it to the Dehradun district magistrate which was cleared by the district magistrate. With this, cases under the Gangster Act will be processed in the court against a total of 24 of the accused in the UKSSSC examination paper leak case.
The STF SSP further informed that as action under the Gangster Act will now be taken against the 24 accused, action will be taken to seize the movable and immovable property of these three accused along with the others booked under the Act.
It will be recalled that the STF is conducting investigation in four separate cases lodged regarding malpractices in the graduate level examination, secretariat guard recruitment exam, forest guard online recruitment exam and the Gram Panchayat development officer examination conducted by the UKSSSC. A total of 54 accused have been arrested by the STF in all these cases so far.
