Three people lost lives in separate incidents in U’khand

Three people including a minor lost their lives in three different incidents on Wednesday. A dumper fell into a 200 metre gorge in the Badkot area of Uttarkashi district in the wee hours of Wednesday. The officials said that the locals informed the police that a vehicle fell into a gorge near Paligad in Badkot after which the rescue team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was called at the spot. The team descended into the 200 metre deep gorge and found a dead man there. The team brought his body up with the help of a stretcher and handed it over to the police. The officials said that the man was identified as a local resident Bam Bahadur (38). In another incident in Uttarkashi, a senior citizen and a pilgrim from Guna, Madhya Pradesh Ghanshyam Sen (67) fell ill in the Yamunotri route on Wednesday morning. The police called the SDRF at the spot to take the man to the nearby hospital. However, the doctors declared him as brought dead. The police have informed the families, the officials said. Meanwhile, a teenage girl was swept away after she fell into a soaring river in Kichha of the Udham Singh Nagar district late on Tuesday after a heavy rainfall. The SDRF teams searched for the girl on Tuesday night and on Wednesday but did not find her body, the officials added.
