Three-storey building to be constructed for Rawal & priests at Kedarnath

A three-storey building will be constructed for the Rawal and priests in Kedarnath. A budget of Rs 10 crore has been released by the government for this purpose. According to officials, 18 rooms will be constructed in the three-storey building near Saraswati River and construction of Bhog Mandi, Rawal Niwas, Board Offices, Ishansheswar Temple, Pather Niwas, Vedpathi Awas will also be done with Rs 6.39 crore.
Tourism secretary Dilip Jawalkar said, “This is being done to create ease for the Rawals and the priests. This construction near Kedarnath will give direct benefit to the beneficiaries and will bring ease to conduct Yatra and Pooja successfully.”
Uttarakhand Char Dham Devasthanam Board chief executive officer, Ravinath Raman said, “The Rudraprayag district magistrate has already marked the land for the construction which has been given to the Devasthanam Board. The land is 300 metres away from Kedarnath on which construction will be done in an area of about 265 square metres. We have already started the tender process for the task.”
