Three test positive for dengue & one for Covid-19 in Dehradun

Dehradun district reported three new cases of dengue and one case of Covid-19 on Tuesday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that the three positive dengue cases were reported out of which one was reported at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, one at Himalayan Hospital and one at Max Hospital. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 240, with 121 cases originating from Dehradun and 119 from other districts or States.

Currently, there are 17 active dengue patients receiving treatment: nine at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two at Himalayan Hospital, four at Graphic Era Hospital, one at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh and one at Max Hospital.

In addition, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers on Tuesday conducted 10,050 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, 160 homes were found to have larvae. Further, ASHA workers and volunteers also examined 69218 containers on Tuesday and discovered that 214 of them contained larvae.

In addition to this, Sharma informed that one local case of Covid-19 was also reported on Tuesday, raising the cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the district to 112, which includes 92 local residents and 20 migrants. There is currently one active Covid-19 case in the Dehradun district. A total of 14 samples were tested for Covid-19 on Tuesday, contributing to a cumulative total of 1,246 samples tested. Sharma informed that no deaths from Covid-19 have been reported in the Dehradun district so far.
